Michael Nirschl is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Chief Information Officer for the Investment Management Division. He is responsible for technology across strategy, delivery & operations driving business growth, client experience and platform scalability for the global asset management business.
Michael serves as a member of the MSIM Operating Committee.
He joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 as Head of Data & Analytics as part of the COO office driving an enterprise data strategy delivering across improved decision making, increased scale through automated data flow, data architecture, data quality and management of data related risks.
Michael has over 20 years of relevant experience. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Michael was a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Google, Inc., where he led efforts in search advertising and YouTube speech recognition. Before Google, Michael was a strategist in Interest Rate products for Goldman Sachs and at UBS in algorithmic market-making. He holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University, UK.
