Khalil Parran

Managing Director, Head of Engineering and Data Science Legg Mason

Khalil’s responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy for Enterprise Data, Intelligent Automation and Reporting & Analytics.  As the Head of Digital Business Intelligence, Khalil’s focused on delivering capabilities that will enable a digital and data-driven organization.   

Khalil has worked for Legg Mason for over 14 years.  His career started in 2001 as a Software Developer Analyst working in Corporate Technology where he designed and developed automation solutions for Capital Markets and Brokerage Solutions.  In 2006, Khalil began working with Legg Mason Capital Management (LMCM), where he focused on implementing technologies to support the investment portfolio management process, order management and execution management trading capabilities.  He was appointed as Head of Technology for LMCM in 2010 where he was responsible for setting the technology strategic direction for LMCM.   

In 2013, Khalil served as the Vice President of Global Enterprise Data for T. Rowe price where he led data initiatives to support client reporting, performance and investment analytics.  He rejoined Legg Mason in 2017 as a Business Relationship Manager and was appointed to his current position in early 2018.

Khalil holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Towson University.  He also maintains a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) certification and is a current participant of the Securities Industry Institute (SII) at Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Khalil’s also an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Towson University.  He coaches youth basketball and was a former mentor for Big Brother Big Sisters and the Junior Achievement Program.
