Many enterprises have a long way to go before they reach a level of data maturity that allows them to take full advantage of new tools and capabilities like AI. One big reason that many companies aren’t where they need to be is because they are trying to sprint ahead when they really should be ensuring their data management fundamentals are in order. Data quality issues, improper master data management, weak data security (to name a few) are part of the data management fundamentals that will hold up any innovative initiative and will undoubtedly create problems for you down the road if not adequately addressed. This keynote will explore the reasons why going back to the basics of data management is a crucial step that enterprises should constantly revisit if they are to successfully innovate and leverage new technologies.  

The new landscape that financial institutions find themselves in demands regulatory and compliance teams that will work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively to prevent noncompliance across the enterprise. The good news is, there seems to be a myriad of ways that financial institutions can better make use of their compliance teams to ensure adherence to data regulations. On this panel, we will explore how the demand on regulatory compliance teams has evolved and dive into the future of these teams by discussing:

• The importance of working collaboratively with regulators to handle the next wave of regulations.
• Ways to analyze current requirements and develop strategies for upcoming rules and regulations.
• How to best work with data and business teams to enable innovation in light of increased regulatory requirements including SBA Section1071, CRA, CFPB Section 1033, GDPR, CCPA & BCBS 239 .
• The role of tools and external partners in helping manage new waves of regulations.
