2:30 PM Talking Talent | Developing and Retaining Talent to Support an Offensive Data Organization

The demand for data talent is at an all-time high, but supply is very low. The industry is competing with Google, Facebook and other high tech companies where data professionals have more creative freedom. How do you further develop the talent you have to deliver on your data strategy? How can you pull talent from other parts of the business and groom data scientists to meet the increased demand for data? This boardroom style session will be driven by discussion. Participants will be asked to come prepared with both questions AND at least 1 success story/proven tactic that has benefited your business in the areas of talent development, training and retention.

  • Talent development and training best practices, treating people as your first asset
  • Identifying the new skillsets needed to support the data organization to focus on training opportunities that will fill the gaps
  • Retention best practices, knowing what keeps talent motivated in the long-term
  • Work with HR to develop a retention program
