A Stunning Number of CDOs Neglect Data Provenance Tools

According to the recently published 2018 CDO Study, produced in partnership with ASG, FIMA, and Wipro, 50% of CDOs are not currently employing solutions for data inventory. Similar numbers appear across a range of solutions that includes automated governance and issue management, as well as automated lineage.

Reviewing the data, Ian Rowlands, ASG’s Director of Product Management, observed “Our results show that 50% of CDOs are doing data inventory. That means 50% are saying to us: ‘We don’t actually know what data we’ve got.’ That’s pretty startling.”
